Day 4 of South Africa’s National Science Week brought us back to the schools, starting with a primary school. This school had planned well for National Science Week, even having some posters:

By now we had the routine for our science demonstrations down. Setup went fast:

And we quieted the kids to could start:

SCIENCE!

From the moment we started, many of the students were having trouble seeing us. A few of them climbed onto the stage area:

Suddenly, there was a mad rush and we were doing science in the round:

It was incredibly scary. We were doing our demonstrations while rotating in a circle. But everything went well. We then had science quizzes and gave away posters to extremely eager students:
